Commissioned by the Akropolis Reed Quintet in 2011 by composer David Heetderks, Pitchblende, a work warranting notice from reed quintets around the world, is ever expanding as composer David Heetderks continues to compose Pitchblendes to complement this set. In them he gives each voice space to contribute. He composes within rhythm as much as harmony and counterpoint, and at times all three develop together.
